Dr. Patrick Gaydecki

Biography

Patrick Gaydecki is a Professor at the University of Manchester, specializing in Digital Signal Processing (DSP) within the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. He has a rich background in developing innovative systems for audio-based signal processing, imaging, insect tracking, and biomedical instrumentation. Having authored over 200 journal and conference papers, he has received funding from various prestigious organizations including the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC). He is also a co-founder of Signal Wizard Systems Ltd, which focuses on commercializing real-time DSP products. His collaborative work includes projects with the Manchester Heart Centre and the University of Cambridge. Patrick's expertise encompasses a range of topics from telemedical device development to wearable technology, emphasizing the intersection of digital signal processing with real-world applications. He holds both a Bachelor of Science degree from De Montfort University and a Doctor of Philosophy from Cranfield University.
