Dr. Patrick Kenney

Biography

Patrick Kenney, MD, is an Associate Professor of Urology at Yale School of Medicine, specializing in urologic oncology with a focus on advanced surgery for Renal Cell Carcinoma and kidney cancer. He performs minimally invasive robotic surgeries, including robotic partial radical nephrectomy and complex cytoreductive procedures. His clinical interests include localized and metastatic kidney cancer, emphasizing organ preservation whenever possible. Dr. Kenney believes in fostering strong doctor-patient relationships and effective communication, which he considers crucial during the challenging times faced by cancer patients. After earning his medical degree from Columbia University, he completed his residency at Lahey Clinic Medical Center and a fellowship in Urologic Oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. Kenney is active in research, authoring numerous publications on kidney cancer, and participates in various professional organizations, including the American Urological Association and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. He has held leadership positions within the Yale New Haven Health System and is committed to integrating surgery with systemic therapy to enhance patient outcomes.
