Patrick Lambrix is a Professor and Head of the Division of Database and Information Techniques at Linköping University, Sweden. He received a Master’s degree in Mathematics in 1988 and in Computer Science in 1990 from KU Leuven, Belgium, and obtained his PhD degree in 1996 from Linköping University. In 2007, he was appointed full professor at Linköping University. His research expertise lies in knowledge engineering, with interests in the Semantic Web, databases, materials science, life sciences, and sports analytics. Lambrix has pioneered work in knowledge representation and ontology engineering, contributing to areas such as part-whole reasoning, description logics, ontology alignment, and debugging. He also leads the Database and Web Information Systems group and is a member of the Semantic Web and Sports Analytics research groups. In addition to research, he teaches courses in databases, data mining, and sports analytics, and serves as the Program Coordinator for the Master's program in Computer Science.
