Biography

Patrick Lanter is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Stanford University, where he specializes in Emergency Medicine, Point of Care Ultrasound, and Global Emergency Medicine. He previously completed a two-year ultrasound fellowship and a two-year global emergency medicine fellowship at Stanford, as well as a master's degree in public health from the University of California, Berkeley. Lanter completed his emergency medicine residency at Washington University in St. Louis, where he served as Chief Resident. His clinical focus involves the development of sustainable ultrasound training programs for healthcare providers, particularly at the University Teaching Hospital in Kigali, Rwanda. He has also served as a course instructor for two Stanford courses: Medical Student Introduction to Point of Care Ultrasound Clerkship and the Emergency Medicine Clerkship at the University of Global Health Equity in Butaro, Rwanda. Lanter is actively involved in professional organizations and is currently co-chair for the Global Ultrasound Committee of the Society of Academic Emergency Medicine. He holds board certifications in Emergency Medicine and Advanced Emergency Medicine Ultrasonography.
