Biography

Patrick E MacDonald is a Professor in the Department of Pharmacology at the University of Alberta, where his research is focused on the mechanisms that control pancreatic endocrine hormone production, particularly insulin and glucagon, and their roles in diabetes health. His lab utilizes molecular, biochemical, imaging, and electrophysiological approaches to study the secretion machinery of pancreatic islet cells.
