Biography

Patrick Tutka is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Health and Kinesiology at Purdue University, specializing in developing the new graduate sport management program. He completed his B.S. in Secondary Education (Social Studies) at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI, in 2006, followed by an M.S. in 2011 and a PhD in Sport Management in 2016 from Louisiana State University. Prior to joining Purdue, Patrick served as a tenured faculty member at Niagara University from 2016 to 2024, where he managed the sport management program and played a crucial role in establishing the M.S. in Sport Management. In addition, he was involved in the development of Niagara Power and Niagara Sport and Recreation Tourism Summit. Patrick has contributed nearly 20 articles in various journals within his field, focusing on topics such as innovation diffusion in sport and college sport facilities. He emphasizes the importance of real-world experiences in his courses to enhance student success. Outside of academia, Patrick is married to his wife Carrie, and they have a five-year-old son named John.
