Biography

Patrick Vorst is an Associate Professor of Financial Accounting at Maastricht University, School of Business and Economics. He earned his Ph.D. from Maastricht University in 2014 and was a visiting Ph.D. student at the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. Between August 2016 and 2018, Patrick served as a Visiting Professor at the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. He holds the CFA and FRM designations. His primary research interests revolve around financial statement analysis and valuation, financial reporting quality, fraud prediction, and the capital market consequences of financial reporting. His publications have appeared in reputable journals such as the Accounting Review, Management Science, and Review of Accounting Studies. At Maastricht University, he teaches master-level courses including Financial Statement Analysis & Valuation, Accounting Financial Markets, and Corporate Reporting & Internal Decision-Making. Additionally, he teaches in the Master of Accounting program at the FHR Institute in Paramaribo, Suriname, and supervises thesis students in the International Executive Master of Finance and Control at UMIO.
