Biography

Patrik Jonsson is a Full Professor in Supply Operations Management at Chalmers University. His research, teaching, and outreach activities are primarily focused on operations and supply chain planning, with a specific interest in managing supply chain complexity and demand-supply planning coordination among firms. His work encompasses data- and technology-enabled operations planning processes, including empirical studies and perspectives on demand management, sales operations planning (S&OP), material planning, information sharing, and adaptable planning execution. Before his tenure at Chalmers, he obtained his Ph.D. in production management from Lund University and served as an assistant professor in logistics management at Växjö/Linneus University. Throughout his career, he has held various management roles, such as head of division, deputy head of department, and director of master's programs and research centers. He is an active member of boards for the European Operations Management Association (EurOMA) and the European Decision Sciences Institute (EDSI) and is affiliated with the logistics association Plan (Swedish APICS/ASCM). He is currently an associate editor for the Journal of Business Logistics and the International Journal of Operations & Production Management, and has guest edited several special issues.
