Biography

Patti Millar is an Associate Professor in the Department of Kinesiology at the University of Windsor, having joined the faculty in July 2017. She previously held a faculty position at Niagara University in Lewiston, New York. Millar earned her PhD in Sport Management from Western University in 2015 and holds a Master of Arts in Applied Health Science (Sport Management) from Brock University, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics from the University of Ottawa. Millar investigates workforce development in the non-profit sport sector and engages with community sport organizations as agents of policy implementation. Her studies explore the dynamics of sport communities, the meanings and experiences of sport participation, and the role of sport as a tool for social change.
