Pau Francesch Sabaté holds a PhD in Catalan Linguistic, Literary, and Cultural Studies from the Universitat de Barcelona. He completed a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Universitat Pompeu Fabra and a Master's degree in Philosophy and Human Rights from Universitat de Barcelona. His main research areas include pragmatics, English-Catalan literary translation, and Catalan information structure. He is particularly interested in L2 teaching and has focused on the application of linguistic corpora in analyzing literary translation, pragmatic ambiguity, and intercultural phenomena in semantics. He teaches at the Sub-faculty of Spanish, covering topics such as Catalan language, culture, grammar, and writing skills. He also teaches FHS papers, including Paper VIII (Catalan Poetry/Prose) and Paper XII (Modern Catalan and Contemporary Catalan Literature). Recently, he has presented works on various aspects of translation and pragmatics, including right dislocation in translation and quantified phrase fronting in Catalan. He has previously taught Catalan language and culture at the University of Birmingham and Catalan syntax at Universitat de Barcelona. His contributions to the field have been recognized in several academic publications and conferences.
