Biography

Paul Alivisatos is a preeminent scientist and entrepreneur who serves as the President of the University of Chicago and the John D. MacArthur Distinguished Service Professor in the Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and has also been honored with the Priestley Medal from the American Chemical Society. He received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Chicago in 1981 and completed his PhD at the University of California, Berkeley in 1986.
