Dr. Paul Alivisatos

Biography

Armand Paul Alivisatos is a distinguished professor who served as the Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost at the University of California, Berkeley, and was the director of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. He has made significant contributions to the field of nanoscience and nanotechnology, particularly in the fundamental physical chemistry of nanocrystals. His research has focused on scaling laws governing the properties of nanocrystals and developing innovative methods for synthesizing these materials in a controlled manner. Alivisatos has played a pivotal role in the establishment of the Molecular Foundry and has served as the founding editor of Nano Letters, a prominent journal in the field.
