Dr. Paul Andon

Biography

Paul Andon is a Professor in Accounting at UNSW Business School and currently serves as the Interim Dean. He has held various faculty leadership roles, including Senior Deputy Dean for Education and Student Experience and Head of the School of Accounting. His research focuses on the professional practice of accounting, business education reform, and the human aspects of accounting, particularly in relation to financial management and the influence of artificial intelligence technologies. He examines how performance measurement, costing, and auditing practices impact human behavior and trust in accounting. His work also explores financial crime rationalization and the use of digital algorithms to manage modern workforces. Paul has published extensively in leading international journals and has presented at industry forums on issues related to the future of the accounting profession. He has been instrumental in devising significant reforms in undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including the redesign of the Master of Professional Accounting. Paul is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
