Biography

Dr. Paul Benassi’s clinical work focuses on forensic mental health, conducting psycho-legal assessments, and managing individuals under the Ontario Review Board. He completed his medical degree at McMaster University, followed by a Psychiatry Residency in the Forensic Psychiatry Subspecialty Program at the University of Toronto. Dr. Benassi has also attained graduate training in Quality Improvement Patient Safety (MSc QIPS) from the Institute of Health Policy, Management, and Evaluation (IHPME) at the University of Toronto. He is cross-appointed to the Department of Psychiatry and IHPME and supervises medical residents and MSc QIPS students. His research interests involve applying improvement science methodology to mental health care systems and training to enhance the capacity for quality improvement among healthcare providers.
