Biography

Paul K. Bergey is an Associate Professor at the University of Western Australia, where he serves as the Director of the Centre for Business Data Analytics. He earned his Ph.D. in Management Science and Information Technology from Virginia Tech, complemented by an MBA from the College of William and Mary and a Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering from the United States Merchant Marine Academy. Since January 2020, he has been appointed as the founding Director of the Centre for Business Data Analytics at the UWA Business School. Dr. Bergey has previously held key roles including Head of the Department of Management & Organizations and Director of the Master of Information and Logistics Management program. His research emphasizes mathematical modeling to support decision-making in complex managerial contexts and has been published in reputable journals such as Decision Sciences and the Journal of Business Research. Prior to his tenure at UWA, he was faculty at the University of Melbourne and North Carolina State University and has held visiting fellowships at the University of Cambridge and Tulane University. Dr. Bergey also has extensive industry experience, having consulted for governmental organizations and Fortune 500 companies.
