Paul Bogdan received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh. His work has received numerous distinctions, including the 2012 A.G. Jordan Award from the Electrical Computer Engineering Department at Carnegie Mellon University for outstanding Ph.D. thesis. He was also awarded the 2012 Paper Award at the Networks-on-Chip Symposium (NOCS) and the 2012 D.O. Pederson Paper Award from IEEE Transactions on Computer-Aided Design of Integrated Circuits and Systems. Additionally, he received the 2012 Paper Award at the International Conference on Hardware/Software Codesign and System Synthesis (CODES+ISSS) and the 2013 Paper Award at the 18th Asia South Pacific Design Automation Conference. His research interests include performance analysis and design methodologies for multicore systems, theoretical foundations of cyber-physical systems, modeling and analysis of bio-inspired computing, and applications of statistical physics in biological systems.
