Generate a tailored SOP for Dr. Paul Breeze. Improve your application with a focused, well-structured draft.
Paul Breeze is a Physical Geographer and Archaeologist focused on understanding Quaternary climate dynamics and past human-environment interactions. He completed his PhD at the Department of Geography at King's College London, studying remote sensing and GIS techniques to reconstruct palaeohydrology in Arabia and assess the implications of this data for past climate change and human dispersals. Between 2016 and 2023, he was engaged in researcher projects as part of a Leverhulme Early Career Fellowship and worked as a consultant and visiting lecturer at Royal Holloway during 2017-2018. His research specializes in remote sensing and GIS, synthesizing past climate data with archaeological records to identify and contextualize new research sites that facilitate mapping past opportunities for human dispersals. He has conducted significant fieldwork in the deserts of Arabia, North Africa, and Asia since 2009, with a focus on landscape survey, UAVs, and desert geomorphology. His interdisciplinary research integrates palaeohydrological and palaeoclimate proxies with archaeological data to refine our understanding of human movements and subsistence strategies in response to past ecological changes. Paul teaches a variety of modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including topics on climatic variability, geographical inquiry, and environmental remote sensing.
Requirements are consistent across King's Business School and Social Science & Public Policy departments for standard Master's entries.
