Biography

Paul Bridgen joined the Department of Sociology, Social Policy and Criminology in 1998 as an Associate Professor in Social Policy. His main interests are in comparative social policy, with a particular focus on the challenges presented to welfare states by the environmental crisis. Currently, he is examining how welfare states are changing in response to this crisis and what a socio-ecological transition might look like, with evidence of ongoing changes.
