Paul Duuring is an Adjunct Senior Research Fellow and a Senior Geologist at the Geological Survey of Western Australia. He completed his PhD degree in Economic Geology at the University of Western Australia in 2002. Following this, Paul worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Monash University in Melbourne, the University of British Columbia in Canada, and Pukyong National University in South Korea. He later served as a Research Associate Professor at the University of Western Australia in Perth. His research interests primarily focus on Mineral Systems, including orogenic intrusion-related gold systems, komatiite-hosted nickel, porphyry copper-gold, epithermal gold-silver, hypogene and supergene altered iron ore, and volcanic-hosted massive sulphide deposits. Paul has published more than 18 first-author articles in international journals and has held volunteer positions such as Associate Editor for Ore Geology Reviews and committee member for the Geological Society of Australia (WA Chapter).
