Biography

Paul Earl joined the Asper School of Business in 2003, bringing a long and varied career in the western Canadian grain industry. Prior to his tenure at the Asper School, he worked with United Grain Growers and the Grain Transportation Agency. He also spent five years with the Western Canadian Wheat Growers Association and was a founding member of the Department of Supply Chain Management at the Asper School when it was formed in 2004. Midway through his career in the grain industry, he undertook doctoral studies at the University of Manitoba, completing his degree in 1992. His thesis examined the farm movement in western Canada from 1918 to 1935, exploring the prairie Wheat Pools and the ideologies of the Canadian Wheat Board that influenced the formation of these institutions. Paul has a long relationship with the Transport Institute, serving as a research associate from 1987 to 1988 while completing his degree, and he has continued to collaborate with the Institute throughout his career. Paul looks forward to new phases in his career related to the Institute.
