Biography

Paul Fearis joined Duke University 28 years ago, focusing on medical device design and consulting. He has worked with PDD and Sagentia, finally establishing his own consultancy, Clinvue. Paul trained in Industrial Design Engineering at the Royal College of Art and completed his education in Mechanical Design at Cranfield Institute of Technology in the United Kingdom. He has played a key role in bringing a wide range of medical devices to market for both multinational corporations and startups in the United States and around the world. Paul specializes in human-centric product design, with a particular emphasis on front-end innovation, product specification processes, and ethnographic observational research to identify unmet and underserved clinical needs.
