Biography

Paul Fearis joined Duke University 28 years ago, bringing extensive experience from the medical device design consulting industry, having worked with PDD, Sagentia, and later establishing his own consultancy, Clinvue. His academic background includes training in Industrial Design Engineering from the Royal College of Art and Mechanical Design from the Cranfield Institute of Technology in the United Kingdom. Paul has played a pivotal role in defining and bringing to market a broad range of medical devices for multinational corporations and startups across the United States and the world. Specializing in human-centric product design, he emphasizes front-end innovation, product specification processes, and ethnographic observational research to identify unmet, underserved, and unarticulated clinical and stakeholder needs.
