Biography

Dr. Paul Feuerstadt is a native of Long Island, New York. He attended the University of Pennsylvania, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology, graduating Summa Cum Laude. He then attended Weill Medical College of Cornell University in Manhattan, New York, to obtain his Medical Doctor degree. Following his education, he completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center, and subsequently moved to Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, New York, for clinical fellowship training. Dr. Feuerstadt's practice and training have strongly emphasized research and academic pursuits. His research interests include chronic diarrheal syndromes, with a specific focus on Clostridiodes difficile infection and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). He has presented his research extensively at national meetings and has authored and co-authored numerous manuscripts, textbook chapters, and online modules. Beyond his research, Dr. Feuerstadt is passionate about teaching and mentoring, frequently giving lectures locally and nationally. He also founded a website, "Everythingcdifficile.com," which serves as an educational resource for patients and providers concerning infectious diseases. His clinical practice primarily focuses on a broad spectrum of patients with gastrointestinal and hepatic diseases. He is affiliated with St. Raphael campus of Yale-New Haven Hospital and Milford Hospital.
