Biography

Paul Geltman, MD, MPH, is an Associate Professor at Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine and the Chobanian Avedisian School of Medicine. His career includes significant roles in health policy and clinical care, emphasizing health issues affecting low-income children and refugees. He served as Medical Director of the Refugee Health Division at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, overseeing statewide health screening for newly arrived refugees. Geltman's academic training includes a Doctor of Medicine and Master of Public Health from George Washington University and an undergraduate degree from Princeton University. He completed his pediatric residency at Floating Hospital for Children and a post-graduate fellowship in child advocacy. His research interests are broad, including the prevention of iron deficiency and lead poisoning, and he has conducted nationwide studies on refugee children's health outcomes. His extensive publication record highlights his commitment to improving the health status of vulnerable populations and addressing disparities in healthcare.
