Dr. Paul Jaschke

Biography

Paul Jaschke is a Senior Lecturer at Macquarie University, specializing in Synthetic Biology within the School of Natural Sciences. He completed his PhD in Microbiology and Immunology at the University of British Columbia and subsequently held an NSERC-funded postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University before joining Macquarie University. His research primarily focuses on synthetic biology, microbiology, and virology, particularly the use of bacteriophages in therapy against antibiotic-resistant bacteria. His lab explores various topics, including phage therapy, genome engineering, and next-generation sequencing methodologies. Jaschke has taught multiple courses at both undergraduate and master's levels and has supervised numerous research students at Macquarie, contributing significantly to the academic development of his field.
