Dr. Paul Johnston

Biography

Paul George Johnston is a Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow at Stanford University specializing in Classics. He received his Ph.D. from Harvard University in Classical Philology and Comparative Literature in 2023. His academic journey began with a B.A. in Classics at the University of Auckland, followed by an M.A. in Ancient History. His engagements include being a regular member of the American School of Classical Studies at Athens. His teaching and research focus on classical texts, providing students with a thorough understanding of the ancient world through critical analysis and interpretation. Johnston is keen on integrating various methodologies in his research, creating a bridge between classical studies and contemporary literary theory.
