Dr. Paul Kelaita

Biography

Paul Kelaita is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of New South Wales, affiliated with the Social Policy Research Centre. He holds a PhD in Gender Cultural Studies from the University of Sydney, where his research focused on queer histories and art practices in Western Sydney. His research interests involve the intersection of values and drug policy, exploring how these values inform the ongoing debate surrounding drug policy reform. Kelaita's work also examines public health policy, particularly in the context of COVID lockdowns, and political participation, including analyses of the marriage equality postal survey. He has extensive experience in qualitative research design and implementation across humanities and social science disciplines, and is skilled in coordinating diverse interdisciplinary projects that utilize mixed methods.
