Dr. Paul Koch

Biography

Paul Koch is a Professor and Department Chair in the Department of Plant Pathology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He earned his Doctor of Philosophy degree in Plant Pathology in August 2012 and has a strong academic background with a Master of Science degree in Plant Pathology from May 2007 and a Bachelor of Science degree in the same field from May 2005. His research focuses on the relationship between turfgrass and pest management, emphasizing precision disease management and reducing non-target impacts from pesticide applications. Koch is recognized for his contributions to understanding turfgrass microbiomes and has been involved in the evaluation of different fungicide applications to prevent turfgrass diseases. He collaborates extensively in research projects aiming to improve the health and sustainability of turfgrass management, particularly in urban landscapes. Throughout his career, he has published numerous scientific papers and served on editorial boards, reflecting his status as a leading expert in his field.
