Professor Dr. Paul Kostenuik

Biography

Paul Kostenuik is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. He is the CEO, President, and co-founder of Ortheus Inc., a biotherapeutics company focused on developing novel tissue regeneration approaches. Additionally, he is the owner and founder of Phylon Pharma Services, a company that provides R&D consulting and regulatory support in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device industries. He earned his PhD in Medical Sciences from McMaster University and completed post-doctoral fellowships at La Jolla and UC San Francisco. Prior to his current role, he was a faculty member in Orthopedic Surgery at Boston University. He has 16 years of experience as Scientific Director at Amgen Inc., where he led research teams dedicated to the discovery, validation, and development of novel therapeutics for musculoskeletal, oncologic, renal, dental, rheumatologic, pediatric, metabolic, and orthopedic indications. Dr. Kostenuik is also an inventor on multiple patents and has authored over 100 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters.
