Biography

Paul R. Krugman is a Professor of Economics and International Affairs, Emeritus, at Princeton University. He is a well-known author and editor of dozens of books and has written hundreds of articles primarily focused on international trade and international finance. Krugman is recognized for his twice-weekly columns in The New York Times and monthly contributions to Fortune Magazine and Slate. He served as the Ford International Professor of International Economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and has also been a member of the U.S. Council of Economic Advisers. In 1991, he was awarded the prestigious John Bates Clark Medal, given to the most outstanding American economist under the age of 40. He holds a Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
