Biography

Paul Locke is an environmental health scientist and attorney who holds a Master of Public Health from the Yale University School of Medicine and a Doctorate in Public Health from the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health. He graduated from Vanderbilt University School of Law and is licensed to practice before the bars of the states of New York, the District of Columbia, the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, and the United States Supreme Court. Locke’s research and practice focus on the intersection of environmental health sciences, policy, and law, particularly in areas such as radiation policy law and the use of new, non-animal based methods for toxicity testing. His areas of study include laboratory animal law and the implementation of new scientific methods for toxicity testing, radon risk science policy, radiation risk analysis, uranium mining, and protecting space workers through high-level radioactive waste disposal applications. He has authored and co-authored numerous chapters and papers published in both policy and scientific journals, as well as law reviews.
