Biography

Paul C. Lynch is an Associate Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering at Penn State Behrend. He joined the faculty in Fall 2015 after serving as a lecturer and academic adviser for five years at the Harold Inge Marcus Department of Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering at Penn State University Park. Dr. Lynch holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering, an M.S. in Industrial Engineering, and a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Penn State University Park. His research interests encompass engineering education, metal casting, materials, manufacturing processes, and systems, and engineering economy. Dr. Lynch takes a student-centered approach to teaching, emphasizing the importance of engaging students and adapting to their learning styles. He has been recognized with several awards for excellence in teaching and advising. He provides valuable insights into engineering education methodologies, including the development of a new teaching framework called the 'I-C-D' Method that focuses on interaction, cultivation, and delivery of engineering instruction. Dr. Lynch's dedication to fostering a supportive learning environment is evident through his active engagement with students. He aims to make a positive impact on their academic journeys by motivating and inspiring them to achieve their goals.
