Biography

Paul MacMahon is an Associate Professor at the Law School of the London School of Economics and Political Science. He serves as the Director of the Executive LLM Programme. His primary research interests include contracts, commercial law, and international arbitration. Before joining LSE, Paul taught at Harvard University and the University of Cambridge. He studied at the University of Oxford, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Civil Law, and Doctorate, and at Harvard Law School, where he obtained his Juris Doctor. He has served as a law clerk to United States Judges Guido Calabresi and John Gleeson. In addition to his teaching role, Paul is a regular Visiting Professor at the Católica Global School of Law in Lisbon. His work has been cited in both English and Singapore courts of appeal, and he has served as an expert on English law in foreign court proceedings.
