Biography

Paul Manning is an Assistant Professor at Dalhousie University's Faculty of Agriculture. His research primarily focuses on understanding the importance of biodiversity, particularly insects, in maintaining healthy and functioning agricultural ecosystems. He has a DPhil in Zoology from the University of Oxford, which he completed in 2017, and a BSc in Agriculture from NSAC/Dalhousie University, earned in 2013. Manning teaches several undergraduate courses, including General Entomology, Biology II, Conservation Biology, and Measuring Food Sustainability. He is actively involved in the academic community, serving as an Associate Editor for Ecological Entomology and the Journal of the Acadian Entomological Society, along with being a member of various organizations such as the Nova Scotia Institute of Agrologists and the Entomological Society of Canada. His work is characterized by an emphasis on agroecology and community science.
