Biography

Paul Mende is a Senior Lecturer in Finance at the MIT Sloan School of Management. He has a substantial background in quantitative finance and research, having co-founded and served as director at Fort Hill Capital Management, LLC, a hedge fund focused on equity derivatives, from 2002 to 2010. Additionally, he was involved in launching the successful Bay Hill Fund LP in 2007 and the Absolute Strategies Fund, an innovative absolute-return fund-of-funds. Previous roles include director at the Money Management & Trading Group at Cambridge Technology Partners and analyst in the Quantitative Strategies Group at MDT Advisers. Mende has also held academic roles as an assistant professor of physics at Brown University and research associate in the Center for Theoretical Physics at MIT. He holds an AB in physics from Harvard University and a PhD in physics from Princeton University.
