Biography

Paul C. Pencak is currently a Professor of Practice at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, initially joining the tax faculty as an Adjunct Professor in 1996. He began his career at Arthur Young in 1984 and is now a managing director at Ernst & Young’s National Tax Department, where his practice focuses primarily on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, post-merger integration, and repatriation strategies. Pencak received his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from Northwestern University School of Law in 1990, where he also served as an associate editor of the Law Review. Prior to that, he earned his Bachelor of Science degree with highest honors from DePaul University in 1982 and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant. His areas of expertise include taxation and corporate tax transactions, particularly in advanced international corporate tax issues, corporate taxation for LLM Tax, and international taxation.
