Biography

Paul D. Reingold is a Clinical Professor Emeritus of Law at the University of Michigan Law School, where he directed the Civil-Criminal Litigation Clinic from 1983 to 2018. Before joining the faculty, he served as a legal services attorney, specializing in cases involving state and federal governments. His primary interests encompass civil rights litigation, appellate practice, prisoners’ rights, and civil procedure. Reingold has taught courses in Trial Advocacy, Litigation Ethics, and Negotiation, and has been recognized for his teaching excellence with the L. Hart Wright Award. He has also served as a visiting professor of law in Japan and Spain, and as a visiting clinical professor at Boston College Law School. Additionally, he is a fellow of the Michigan State Bar Foundation and has received the Champion of Justice Award for his work as a public interest lawyer.
