Dr. Paul Sachdev

Biography

Dr. Paul Sachdev is an Emeritus Professor at the School of Social Work, Memorial University of Newfoundland. He has been recognized with the President's Award for Outstanding Research. Dr. Sachdev's research interests encompass adoption, child abuse, HIV/AIDS, and reproductive health care. He has authored several influential books, including "Abortion: Readings Research Perspectives Abortion" and has published more than 35 articles in refereed journals. A prominent figure in his field, he has served as an Invited Plenary Keynote Speaker at international scholarly conferences. Dr. Sachdev is the founding editor of "Advances in Social Work" and the "International Journal of Medicine and Law". His expertise has led him to consult for various government bodies in New Zealand and Queensland, Australia, particularly regarding adoption reform. He has acted as an Expert Witness in significant legal cases and has been involved in reviewing manuscripts for respected journals. His notable awards include serving as an Intl. Advisor to the National Association of Sexology and Vice-President of the International Congress on Reproductive Health Care. Dr. Sachdev's current research involves studying knowledge trends around HIV/AIDS and how they affect adoption dynamics. His teaching focus includes Applied Evaluative Research and Family Child Welfare.
