Dr. Paul Salkovskis

Biography

Paul Salkovskis is a Professor of Clinical Psychology and a leader in the field of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. He has held positions at the University of Oxford, where he is the Director of the Oxford Centre for Psychological Health and the Oxford Institute of Clinical Psychology Training and Research. He completed his clinical psychology training at the Institute of Psychiatry and has over four decades of experience as a clinical psychologist. His research interests are primarily focused on understanding and treating anxiety disorders, particularly Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Panic, and Agoraphobia. He has published extensively on the cognitive and behavioral factors that contribute to anxiety disorders and has been a strong advocate for the use of evidence-based approaches in clinical practice. Salkovskis has also contributed to national outpatient services for OCD and has been involved in developing clinical psychology training programs. He is a Fellow of the British Psychological Society and has received several prestigious awards for his contributions to clinical psychology and CBT. In addition to his research and clinical work, he serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the BABCP Journal of Behavioural Cognitive Psychotherapy and is active in various roles to promote psychological treatments and practices.
