Dr. Paul Salmon

Biography

Paul Salmon is a retired Assistant Professor specializing in Contemporary Cinema, Canadian Film, and Film Studies at the University of Guelph. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Western Ontario, where he won the Gold Medal in English Philosophy, and earned both his M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Toronto and the University of Western Ontario, respectively. His academic career spans over two decades, focusing on Canadian Cinema and the works of filmmakers like David Cronenberg and Atom Egoyan. He has authored various publications, including a filmography on Canadian feature films and a chapter on Don McKellar in Great Canadian Film Directors. Salmon's extensive teaching experience includes courses on Contemporary Cinema and Documentary Film at both the University of Guelph and the University of Guelph-Humber. He has also engaged in significant administrative roles within the university and contributed to various film journals.
