Biography

Paul Sharp is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Health Sciences, University of New South Wales. His research primarily focuses on the influence of sociocultural and gender-related factors on men's health and health-related behaviors. Dr. Sharp completed his doctoral training at the University of Technology Sydney and has acquired a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Human Kinetics from the University of British Columbia. With over 35 peer-reviewed publications, Dr. Sharp has made significant contributions to the design, delivery, and evaluation of men’s health promotion programs on an international scale. He is currently leading a SSHRC funded research project that explores men’s social connections and peer support to address mental health challenges. His findings aim to inform the development of online resources aimed at encouraging men to engage with peer support and mutual help for mental health challenges.
