Dr. Paul Sheehan

Biography

Paul Sheehan publishes and teaches in areas of literature from the late nineteenth century to the present, particularly focusing on changing cultures surrounding modernism and postmodernism. His research and teaching interests encompass literary and cultural theory, modern drama, and film studies. Sheehan has published two monographs on historical 'first-wave' literary modernism and continues to produce articles and essays in this area. He is currently in the process of completing book projects that address literary fields in relation to film and musical works, with a work-in-progress tentatively titled 'Transnational Coetzee', which is being developed under a collaborative, ARC-funded Discovery Project. Many articles have stemmed from this project, and significant outputs include an edited collection of essays co-written and a book-length study. Sheehan teaches a range of subjects including ENGL1002 Literature: Modern Contemporary, ENGL2030 Literature Visual, ENGL3010 20th-Century Literature: Human Posthuman, and ENGL7000 Textual Analysis, Literary Theory. He supervises PhD students on various topics, reflecting his diverse expertise and commitment to supporting emerging scholars.
