Biography

Paul Stupple is a seasoned medicinal chemist with over 20 years of experience in the global pharmaceutical industry and academia. He has an outstanding track record in advancing projects through clinical development, particularly in effective design strategies and development of exceptional teams. His career began at Pfizer, UK, where he was a medicinal chemistry design leader with management responsibilities, delivering six clinical candidates that advanced through various clinical trials. After moving to Australia, he has led the Medicinal Chemistry program at Cancer Therapeutics CRC (CTx), which evolved into Canthera Discovery. His work has resulted in the largest preclinical licensing agreements in Australia, including significant collaborations with Merck, Sharp and Dohme (MSD) and Pfizer, focusing on novel drug development. Paul Stupple holds a BA and DPhil in Chemistry from the University of Oxford and directs the Medicinal Chemistry at Canthera Discovery Ltd. His research interests include small molecule drug discovery and contributions to the UN Sustainable Development Goals pertaining to health and education.
