Dr. Paul Tetlock

Biography

Professor Paul Tetlock is a prominent faculty member at Columbia Business School, holding the position of Alexandra Morgan Ciardi Professor of Finance. He currently serves as Senior Vice Dean for Curriculum Programs, overseeing the academic degree offerings within the school, including the MBA, Executive MBA, and MS programs. Professor Tetlock has a significant research focus, particularly in the areas of asset management and how media influences stock prices, which has garnered him widespread recognition, receiving over 10,000 citations and accolades such as the Smith-Breeden Prize and the George Eccles Research Award. His work has been highlighted in leading popular press outlets such as The Economist, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal. In addition to his research, he has served as an Associate Editor for top academic journals including the Journal of Finance, Review of Financial Studies, and Management Science. Paul Tetlock was awarded the Dean’s Award for Teaching Excellence in 2021 for his contributions in teaching courses related to Capital Markets and Investments. Before joining Columbia in 2008, he was a faculty member at Yale University and the University of Texas at Austin. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematical Economics from Harvey Mudd College and his PhD in Economics from Harvard University.
