Biography

Dr. Paul Tornetta III is a Chief Chair and Professor at the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine, where he also serves as the Residency Program Director in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. He has extensive experience in orthopaedic trauma and has contributed significantly to the field through his leadership in multicenter trials, serving on executive committees for high-profile trials such as SPRINT, FAITH, TRUST, and FLOW. He has lectured worldwide on orthopaedic trauma and pioneered educational programs in partnership with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery and the Orthopaedic Trauma Association. Dr. Tornetta has authored over 300 peer-reviewed publications and served as the lead editor for prominent textbooks in the field. He has received numerous awards for his clinical research and educational efforts, highlighting his leading role in orthopaedic surgery. He is currently in the Presidential line of the AAOS and is recognized as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor and Boston Magazine Top Doc.
