Biography

The Wender Group addresses unsolved problems in chemistry, synthesis, biology, and medicine, utilizing new computational tools, reactions, reagents, and design strategies. With affiliations to the Medical School, Imaging Center, and programs in Chemical Biology and Molecular Therapeutics, the lab is committed to using chemistry and design to tackle important biological and medical challenges. Key areas of focus include the eradication of HIV/AIDS, combating resistant cancers, and developing immunotherapies for cognitive disorders such as Alzheimer's disease. Paul Wender completed his B.S. in Chemistry at Wilkes University and obtained his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Yale University. He has also been a NIH Postdoctoral Fellow at Columbia University and has had a notable academic career, including faculty positions at Harvard University and Stanford University. Wender has received numerous prestigious awards that recognize his contributions to research and education, including the Tetrahedron Prize, Prelog Medal, and multiple teaching and research accolades.
