Professor Dr. Paula Canal Vergés

Biography

Paula Canal-Vergés is an Associate Professor at the University of Southern Denmark, specializing in aquatic biology and sustainability. Her research focuses on the sustainable management of natural resources, with a keen interest in marine ecology, marine biology, GIS, ecological modeling, biodiversity, and nature conservation. She holds a Master's degree in Biology from the University of Navarra and has experience working as a researcher at the University of Oviedo and the Technical University of Denmark. Additionally, she has held external positions as a consultant project manager at COWI A/S and has been involved in various research initiatives aimed at enhancing understanding of marine ecosystems. Canal-Vergés actively participates in conferences and talks, promoting awareness on the importance of eelgrass restoration and environmental sustainability. Her contributions have been recognized in press media, highlighting her efforts in ensuring a clean marine environment. With a strong commitment to education and research, she engages with students and stakeholders to foster knowledge and collaboration in environmental sciences.
