Biography

Paula Teixeira Molans specializes in Colour Semantics and is interested in Sociolinguistics and Minority Languages. Her doctoral thesis at the University of Glasgow, expected in 2024, investigates Colour Semantics within the Galician language, focusing on a cross-generational study that examines the impact of language contact. Currently, she is a Research Associate involved in the MultiLx project, which aims to strengthen European linguistic capital in a globalized world. This Horizon Europe-funded initiative includes a collaboration of nine universities researching communicative practices and language ideologies among young people across the continent. Previously, she served as a guest lecturer in Linguistics at the University of Glasgow during 2022-2023 and at the University of Tallinn in 2021. Additionally, she taught modules on Galician language and culture at University College Cork from 2017 to 2019. Her research interests encompass Linguistics, Semantics, Colour Semantics, Sociolinguistics, Minority Languages, Minoritised Languages, and Language Contact, specifically in relation to Galician, Scottish Gaelic, and Irish.
