Biography

Dr. Paulina Liberman is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, specializing in uveitis and ocular immunology. She focuses on the clinical management and treatment of uveitis, utilizing advanced therapeutic methods to prevent and mitigate vision loss. Her clinical practice is combined with extensive research aimed at enhancing treatment protocols for ocular inflammation. Prior to her appointment at Johns Hopkins, Dr. Liberman directed the uveitis division at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile’s Department of Ophthalmology. She has significant experience in cataract and refractive surgery, aiming to achieve optimal visual outcomes through precise surgical techniques and thorough preoperative planning. Dr. Liberman’s expertise also includes the use of immunosuppressive therapy for complex ocular conditions such as ocular pemphigoid, scleritis, and peripheral ulcerative keratitis. She is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Uveitis Society, and contributes to notable ophthalmology journals as a reviewer.
