Pauline Downer completed her Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) at Memorial University of Newfoundland and earned her Chartered Accounting designation while articling at Ernst & Young. In 1998, she graduated with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland, where she was awarded the university's gold medal for academic excellence in the all-course master's program. Currently, she serves as the chair of the Faculty of Business Administration's teaching committee and is a member of the promotions and tenure committee for the 2012/2013 academic year.
